Jessup Manufacturing is seeking a Manager of Sales and Customer Service to lead sales growth and customer satisfaction for the company.

This is an exciting opportunity for a someone who enjoys Sales and Customer Service, and wishes to work in a dynamic and friendly office environment.

 The Manager of Sales and Customer Service develops territory sales and service goals for a team of Inside Sellers and Key Account Representatives and is responsible for lead distribution, acquiring new business from existing accounts, coordinating activities with field based Business Development Managers, and customer retention. The Manager of Sales and Customer Service ensures accurate and timely order to cash transactions. The position is responsible for working with operations to plan daily workflow and successfully fulfill large unique orders. The position manages a staff of Inside Sales Representatives and Key Account Representatives and reports directly to the Vice President.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Achieve sales targets from existing and new accounts.

  • Lead the execution of company sales plan as a key member of the management team.
  • Contribute to annual territory goal setting and revenue planning.
  • Develop sales forecasts to assist planning efforts with Purchasing and Production.
  • Log, distribute and track incoming sales leads.
  • Keep a current practical knowledge of markets, competitors, and principal business headwinds and tailwinds.
  • Identify new product and service opportunities.
  • Ensure sure that all customers have current, relevant product and pricing information.
  • Maintain accurate customer information.
  • Communicate proactively and clearly within the organization as chief customer advocate. 

 

Run an effective order-to-cash operation with service that delights customers.

  • Provide high quality customer service to customers while handling their order-to-cash transactions, including resolution of customer concerns, within one business day.
  • Manage daily customer needs regarding bid response, product selection, quotations, technical specifications, prices, order acknowledgements, shipping confirmations, and contact information.
  • Ensure that all emails, calls, live chats, web forms, and faxes are answered within one business day.
  • Log and resolve customer requests, concerns, Return Goods Authorizations, and complaints within one business day.
  • Design and implement effective and efficient ISO work processes and documentation, including participating in relevant internal and external audits.
  • Train staff in the use of customer portals, EDI, databases, workflow documents and unique processes.
  • Implement pricing strategy developed by Product Management.
  • Continuously improve communication within the team and among cross-functional partners.
  • Analyze productivity metrics and provide reports as required.

 

Plan and prioritize production schedule with operations team.

  • Forecast demand for key product lines.
  • Meet daily and weekly with Purchasing and Operations to fulfill customers' requirements and resolve any issues.
  • Contribute to decisions on inventory stocking levels.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years business experience, knowledge of manufacturing and B2B channels preferred.
  • Minimum five years coaching and developing staff.
  • Minimum five years in sales, sales management, and customer service, inside sales experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with diverse digital platforms and customer portals.
