Jessup Manufacturing has a new and exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team! This position reports directly to the VP of Operations and supports the manufacturing of adhesive and abrasive coating operations

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for optimizing cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommending and implementing improvements to production processes, methods and controls; coordinating manufacturing launch for new or revised products and equipment; Lead the specification, vendor qualification and implementation of new equipment and processes. Effectiveness of this position will be measured by the performance improvement from the baseline cost, efficiency or utilization of the project completed.



  • Improves new and existing manufacturing processes for cost reduction, quality or efficiency. This is achieved by; planning work flow, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, equipment layout and materials; soliciting input from operators, equipment suppliers and industry experts.
  • Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
  • Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised processes and equipment including project management, establishing goals, monitoring effectiveness.
  • Completes design and development projects by documenting ISO compliant work instructions, training and guiding technicians.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations including IEPA documentation.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by department supervisor



  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years' Engineering experience in product manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in the implementation of LEAN and Kaizen principles
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • History of progressive responsibility
  • Proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with CAD programs a plus
